Start Posting Your Recipes Online

Start posting all your favourite recipes online by simply creating an account free of charge, then just log-in and start posting recipes straight onto the website. Alternatively, you can go to the contact us page and send us your recipes or email us at post@recipeexchange.co.za , we will post it on to the website for you.
We have put just a few recipes on the website at this point, but with all our viewers adding their recipes, we will soon have a collection of many delicious recipes.
You can also add comments to recipes. Log-in, find a recipe you just tried and tell us what you think about it or give us some tips on your experience.

BANANA AND CARAMEL PASTRY

Pastry with banana and caramel


Bake your puff pastry as normal
Once cool pipe some caramel treat and slice some bananas (mix
with a lil lemon juice to prevent browning) and decorate with the
banana slices - dust icing sugar and enjoy :)

I'm not a 'pastry-baker'. Nor do I make pies/jam tarts or any of the other things one can do with a roll of butter pastry. But today, I surprised even myself.
This recipe is so easy, and require very little preparation, perfect for a novice baker.
Do pass by a Milky Lane and pick up a cup of their caramel sauce and a small container of sprinkle nuts.

texture - I used nuts and didn't bother with frosting. Yields a nice
batch, so stick to the standard recipe - don't double it or halve it
(+/- 3 dz nice sized squares).

BAKED FISH SURPRISE

Baked Fish Surprise

 

  • 11/2 - 2kg fish of choice
  • 1 onion thickly sliced
  • 1 green pepper sliced
  • 1 tomato sliced in rings
  • thick potato chips
  • 4-6 slices white bread- cubed
  • Lemon juice
  • 125 - 150g butter
  • Green chillies

 

Marinade:

  • 1 - 11/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic
  • 1/2 - 3/4 tsp white pepper
  • 2-3 tsp crushed green chillies
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 3 - 4 Tblspn oil

Mix well, and coat fish in above marinade

 

Method:

 

Place marinated fish in greased pan

Top with whole green chillies.

Place cubed bread.

Arrange potatoes on and around fish.

Top with tomatoes, pepper, and then onion rings.

Sprinkle with lemon juice, and season with salt n pepper

Place pieces of butter over the top.

Cover with foil.

Bake at 180 degrees for 40 -60 min.
